Earlier this year we posted a blog about the 2013 tax credits that are available for installing energy-efficient HVAC systems. Now that we only have about three months left in the year, we wanted to remind you about these credits and go over some of the benefits of taking advantage of them before it's too late!
The cooling season is winding down, so installing a new air conditioner might be the farthest thing from many people's minds. But there are a couple of reasons why now is a great time to take advantage of air conditioner tax credits. For one, these credits expire on December 31, 2013. And although this year's credits were extended to include all eligible systems that were installed between 2012 and 2013, there are currently no plans for extending the credits any further.
In addition, it's typically best to install new air conditioners and furnaces at the same time so that they don't have mismatched parts or variances in performance and efficiency. With the heating season on the horizon, and given the fact that credits are also available for energy-efficient furnaces, now is actually the perfect time to take advantage of furnace and air conditioner tax credits!
Remember to take a look at our earlier post for specifics about the qualifications that heating and cooling systems must meet in order to be eligible for the 2013 tax credits.
