- You have a multi-level house. Because heat rises, each level of your home heats and cools differently. Without a zoning system, this often results in homes with varying temperatures upstairs, downstairs, and in the basement. When you separate every level of your home into its zone, you can precisely control the temperature levels of each floor.
- Your home heats and cools unevenly. Different rooms and sections of your house can heat and cool differently depending on where they are located and how many windows they have. A room on your home’s exterior, for example, will receive heat from the sun through its windows, which will allow it to heat faster than interior rooms. This can lead to hot and cold spots in your home, which can be solved by adding different zones accordingly.
- You’re adding a new addition to your home. Oftentimes, new additions to homes will have different temperature levels than the rest of the house.
